Will the PumpLocked Platform work if the piston nut's lower opposing flats are damaged?
-No, the platforms designed adapters are suited to work with new, undamaged lower nuts, or slightly scarred. If excessive wear has accumulated due to previous rebuilds using table vices, the platform will not accommodate the unpacking of the stacked lower nut rings. It is suggested to order a new lower from your dealer and start fresh with your piston. The Pumplocked Platforms will help maintain the new lower, extending its useful work life.
What are the best tools for rebuilding Graco displacement pumps in the field?
-Basic socket sets that are standard and deep that accommodate the largest bolts on the pump at 15/16 size. A 3-foot-long torque wrench that reaches 400 ft/lb torque, and a smaller torque wrench that can accommodate 250 ft/lb torque. A small 3lb hammer. A 6inch piece of a 2×4 wooden block. Duct tape. Follow instructions on the Graco 1800 Pump Rebuild page.
